ALEXIA LILLO "LA REINA DE LOS CORRIDOS"
Monterrey, Nuevo León, MÉXICO. Traditional corridos finally have a woman who defends them and puts her face (and voice) on the line for them. We are referring, of course, to the talented Chilean singer Alexia Lillo, a young artist who, thanks to her presence and personality, has managed to earn a very special place in the popular‑music market.
Born in Parral, a southern city in Chile, the beautiful Alexia Lillo is now committed to strengthening her artistic presence in North America, where the norteño sound she currently offers has its most important stages — both musically and commercially. It is no secret that wherever an accordion and a bajo sexto are heard, there will always be audiences along the Mexico–United States border ready to dance and embrace these melodies.
Recently, Alexia Lillo has released “Deberías rogar perdón,” a traditional norteño track, as well as “Qué bonita me veo sin ti,” a fusion of regional Mexican music with the ranchero style commonly produced in her homeland. This carries significant cultural value, as it reflects her intention to serve as a musical bridge between both nations. It is a courageous contribution, especially in times when areas such as sports or politics often create division between countries. She, far from speeches, uses art to unite people, proving that as a Latin community we share so many tastes and passions that nothing should separate us. Music is the best example, and Alexia Lillo gives us a masterclass in this.
The title “La Reina de los Corridos” traces back internationally to her 2020 production of the same name, released under Águila Récords Chile. After that, her path toward consolidation continued through new releases that gave her the momentum needed to reach larger markets.
Her discography includes various songs and proposals that have always been well‑received by the public. And now that Mexico and the United States are eager for a queen of corridos, Alexia Lillo can easily find her place — and her crown — if she knows how to make the most of her talent, her discipline, and surrounds herself with the right team to take her career to the horns of the moon.
