Monterrey, Nuevo León, MEXICO. July has come to an end, and if it left us with anything, it was major hits. The grupera queens made sure the month didn’t go unnoticed by their audience, releasing music that reaffirmed why they are the voices shaping regional Mexican and tex-mex today.
Erika Renée
On the tenth, Erika Renée, “the most impactful Tejano star of recent years”, released a regional Mexican track that blends banda elements with accordion touches that reflect her love for Monterrey. “Eres mi amor” was produced between Monterrey, Nuevo León, and San Juan, Texas, giving the song that unmistakable border flavor present in her work. The single arrived under exclusive distribution by Unimusik.
Diana Reyes
The third week of July brought the new version of “Querida Socia”, where Diana Reyes reminds the world why she stands at the top of Las Mujeres del Regional. Her consistency, discipline, and the affection of her audience keep her as one of the most representative female voices in Mexican and U.S. regional music.
Arelys Heano
From Colombia came one of the year’s most important collaborations: “En manos ajenas”, a groundbreaking duet between Grupo Exterminador and Arelys Henao, “The Queen of Popular Music”. The song debuted on platforms and organically reached an impressive number of views on YouTube. It’s safe to predict that the global count across Spotify, Apple Music, and other platforms will be massive.
Elsa García
July closed with Elsa García’s release: “En Vivo Desde la Expo Guadalupe”. Recorded at the foot of Monterrey’s iconic Cerro de la Silla, the album captures the unbreakable bond between Elsa and her loyal audience. Her career skyrocketed after dominating the popularity charts of Nuevo León’s radio stations, and this release honors that legacy.
