Full Biography
During the 1990s, Texan‑sound performer Anna Román captured the attention of both the public and the media, who saw in her a rising star. Her success centered on the Texan music movement, delivering songs that are still considered classics of the genre, after having been part of labels such as Sony Music and Fonovisa.
Among the most memorable moments of her career are her performance at the 12th Tejano Music Awards and the successful release of the albums Va de nuevo, Carta de amor and Anna, which reached the market in 1993, 1994, 1996 and 1997, respectively.
In the United States, she achieved significant popularity with singles such as “Yo quiero amor de ti,” “Carta de amor,” “Electricidad,” “Fuego contra fuego,” and “Caray,” all released during her years with Sony. Later, after joining Fonovisa’s Texan division, she reached strong radio positions in northeastern Mexico thanks to the powerful hit “Tú.”
She also enjoyed notable acceptance among dance‑hall DJs with the track “Embriagada,” written by maestro Richard Allen. In the 2010s she released new music, although it received a more modest response from fans of the Texan style.
