This release, arriving under the AP Global Music label, aims to be honest, moving away from the conventional; instead, it dares to use a fresh personality to honor the reality of the community where this unique and authentic proposal was born. "Pida la bendición" is clearly a salsa track built from the ground up, with a feminine character, attitude, and that energy that only appears when two artists understand that tradition is not meant to be repeated, but renewed.
A phrase we all know, transformed into power
“Pedir la bendición” (Asking for the blessing) is one of the deepest expressions in Latin culture. It is respect, it is upbringing, it is a bond. Mari and Manira take that gesture and rewrite it from a place of personal security: not as a plea, but as a presence; not as permission, but as an identity. The song plays with this double meaning: what was once an act of obedience becomes a reminder that the person standing before you has history, character, and a voice.
"I wanted to take something that is part of our culture and transform it into a song with a lot of personality, identity, and attitude. It has that balance between what is real, what is emotional, and that security that comes from something you’ve carried with you since you were little," says Mari La Carajita.
A launch with visual identity
The release is accompanied by a visualizer directed by Sebastián Arias and developed conceptually alongside Marginal Studio—a visual piece that complements the proposal: sober, direct, with an urban aesthetic, and a language that mirrors the track's feminine strength.
